Philippa Hodgson – Doctor of Chiropractic
Since childhood sport has played a big part in my life in particular hockey and tennis. It was after the disappointment of developing a back injury, shortly before important hockey trials, that led me to seek the help of a local chiropractor. After just one treatment my back pain completely resolved and I was a convert!
After 5 years of full time study at the Anglo European College of Chiropractic, I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Human Sciences and an MSc in Chiropractic. I have since had experience as an associate in a busy clinic in Ireland, as a locum around the South East of England and as a full time associate in practices in Putney and Battersea Park. I have also been lucky enough to become a mum to my son Louis and very much enjoy living and working between the Commons.
I enjoy attending a great diversity of Chiropractic seminars including pregnancy and paediatric Chiropractic, radiology in Chiropractic and rehabilitation of the low back. Chiropractic has also enabled me to combine my love of sport with my career and I particularly enjoy helping athletes to improve their performance and recover from sporting injuries. I enjoy every aspect of our profession. I feel that it is integral to a healthy lifestyle and can allow the individual to achieve optimum health and fitness.
It is fantastic to work alongside a great friend and I hope that our combined enthusiasm for offering the best possible service will provide you the most beneficial of experiences in our clinic.

Having completed my post-graduate training contract in Bath, I moved to Battersea, London where I have worked ever since.
It struck me how much time patients in London spend sitting. Even non-office bound people spend many hours seated whilst travelling, relaxing and socializing. This lead me to examine the relationship between sitting and back problems.
Mine is an increasingly supported view – sitting is the silent cause of a vast majority of London’s back problems.
Exercise regimes are essential to re-condition the spine, as well as ergonomic techniques to help desk-bound patients minimize the effects of sitting.
Emma Burniston BSc (Chiro) M. Chiro. – Doctor of Chiropractic
If you would have told me when I was 10, that hurting my neck doing a forward roll in the playground would be the catalyst for an exhilarating career in Chiropractic care, I would not have believed you. My mother intuitively took me to the chiropractor after bumps and falls, and for regular checks. It was not until 2003, while working in Germany that I realised the true potential Chiropractic care could give both horse and rider.
I have completed a 3 year Bachelor of Chiropractic Science and a 2 year Masters of Chiropractic at Macquarie University in Sydney. I have also had the opportunity to work at The 2009 World Masters Game in Sydney. In early 2010 I moved to London to seek new challenges and experiences. For the past 2 years I have enjoyed living in Clapham and working in South London. I have a special interest adjusting pregnant women, and children. I am a member of the International Chiropractic Paediatric Association, as well as being Webster Technique certified. It is my pleasure to be able to provide residence and workers of Clapham with quality Chiropractic care and help even more people achieve their health goals by restoring function, and allowing the body to perform at its optimum.
I love running, horse riding, ocean swimming, skiing, and eating apples and cheese!
